Chloe's First Birthday

Oh my goodness. My baby is ONE.

The past couple days I have had flashbacks of being at the hospital on September 2, 2011. I remember my sweaty palms, pounding heart and anxious mind as the nurses prepared me for my dreaded c-section. I have never been more nervous in my life. My stomach churned at the thought of being cut open, and I had to constantly redirect my thoughts to pleasant things...like knowing that in a couple hours I would hold my baby girl after a long 9 months.

Max sat right next to me as I layed helplessly paralyzed on the operating table, eagerly awaiting the arrival of our baby girl. Then, as if I was dreaming, little Chloe Marie was being lifted from my body. Seeing Chloe for the first time and hearing her first sweet cry was the most amazing and beautiful moment in my life. Words just can't describe it. I immediately forgot I was on an operating table, and my watery eyes were glued on Chloe Marie. That was Max's and my baby. Our very own, gorgeous baby girl...

Now that little baby girl is one... and no longer a baby but a little wobbly toddler! I can't believe how fast time has flown by... It has been such a good year though, and I can't imagine my life without Chloe. She is Max's and my pride and joy.

Saturday, we celebrated Chloe's first birthday with a huge party! I spent countless hours planning for her party, and needless to say, the past week I had time for nothing else but getting the house ready (including painting walls and buying furniture on Craigslist), running errands, and making home-made favors, decorations, and food. I ate barely anything...didn't exercise...didn't blog...but I finished everything I wanted to, and it was well worth it!

Chloe's party was a pink and green "garden" theme...

Everyone really enjoyed the party and I think Chloe had lots of fun, too! She slept through the first hour and a half and then woke up to tons of people being here.  She was a little confused at first but it only took a few minutes before she started adoring the attention!

Chloe LOVED her cake... almost as much as we loved watching her eat it! She also liked smothering cake on Nana's nose...

It was a long day for Chloe, but she did so well! We love you Chloe! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
